Welcome to Toggen Milk Limited

Safe . Natural . Organic

Who we are...

We are Togen Milk Limited, a company registered in Kenya. This consists of a group of farmers; Toggenburg breeders project who rear dairy goats for milk production with the objective of adding value to the goat milk by processing it.

Our main aim is empowering the farmers and the community mostly the youth since we are a community based organization. We help them by teaching them entrepreneurial skills and capacity building thus maximizing the use of space and time hence eco farm. We have a farm which is the epicenter of all our activities, through this farm we create awareness about the benefits of rearing dairy goats, we empower the interested farmers with the resources which in this case are the dairy goats and goat sheds to enable them rear the dairy goats. The goats are delivered to them when already in calved and insured. Upon delivery of the calves the milking can start. We provide them with ready market for the milk which we buy at 120 Kshs per liter, from the proceeds is where we deduct the agreed price for the dairy goats since we did not charge the farmers when delivering the dairy goats to their places but rather we gave them the dairy goats via an insurance policy which stated that we would deduct the agreed sum from the proceeds of the sale of the dairy goat milk until the agreed sum is complete.

Health Benefits

Easier to Digest

Goat's milk has smaller fat globules as well as higher levels of medium chain fatty acids. This means that during digestion, each fat globule and individual fatty acid will have a larger surface-to-volume ratio resulting in a quicker and easier digestion process.

Good for lactose intolerants

Goat's milk contains lactose. Therefore, you should avoid it if you have severe lactose intolerance. Still, it's easier to digest and contains less lactose than cow's milk, which is why some people with mild lactose intolerance may tolerate it.

Prevent asteriosclerosis

Goat milk helps to prevent arteriosclerosis. This is because it contains a limited amount of the enzyme, xanthine oxidase. This enzyme is believed to cause heart issues on entering the bloodstream. Goat’s milk contains this n very less quantity and hence can prevent arteriosclerosis.

Rich in Calcium

Usually people think of cow’s milk as the most healthy and calcium-rich food. But one should not worry about calcium while you are switching to goat’s milk. It consists of more minerals than cow’s milk i.e. 33% of the daily recommended value. Cow’s milk has 28%).

Turns into lesser curd

After reaching your stomach the goat milk turns into curd which is softer than the curd formed of cow’s milk. 10 percent of cow milk is curd, while in comparison only 2 percent of goat’s milk turns to curd and helps your body to digest it leaving less irritation as compared to cow’s milk.

Prevents allergic reactions

Goat milk is less allergic than cow’s milk. Cow’s milk is the number one cause of allergy among children and can persist throughout adulthood. This is because of the 20 different allergens that cause allergic reactions.

Filled with A2 Casein

The goat’s milk mostly contains ‘A2 casein’ which makes it comparable to human breast milk in terms of protein. A2 casein does not cause any inflammatory diseases, such as colitis, irritable bowel syndrome etc. A study even states that when babies are fed with goat’s milk as the first protein after breast feeding, they are less allergic as when compared with cow’s milk feeding.

Contains medium chain fatty acids

Goat’s milk also contains medium-chain fatty acids (30–35% in comparison to 15–20% in cow’s milk). These acids offer energy boosts and are not stored as fat in the body. These help to decrease cholesterol and treat tough conditions, such as intestinal disorders and coronary diseases.
